New Castle murder suspect found hiding under fake identity in Detroit

One of  New Castle's top 10 most-wanted fugitives who was on the run for months has been captured in another state.

New Castle police said U.S. marshals found a murder suspect, JuJuan Jackson, living in Detroit. Officials said Jackson had changed his appearance, had a new name, a new birth certificate and a new life.

Officers caught up with him on Monday, and New Castle police had been searching for him for a year and a half. Police said they believe he wounded a woman when he shot her in the chest while she was sitting on her porch in May 2015.

While Jackson was on the most-wanted list, detectives believe he shot through a bedroom window on Meyer Avenue in July 2016, killing a 21-year-old man and injuring a young woman who turned out to be Jackson’s ex-girlfriend.

Jackson is in a Detroit jail awaiting transport back to New Castle, where he will face murder and attempted murder charges.
