Police: Death on Beaver County road considered suspicious

INDUSTRY, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police said they are investigating the death of a man on a road in Industry, Beaver County, as suspicious.

Emergency dispatchers said the man was hit by a vehicle shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday on Midland Beaver Road, near the intersection with Industry Street.

The Beaver County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 25-year-old Brandon Bixler.

Police told

the car involved may have been a white Honda.

“We are not ruling out a fatal hit-and-run, but we're also not ruling out a homicide at this point,” Lt. Eric Hermick said. “Right now, we're still receiving evidence, going over interviews and collecting some video surveillance.”

Bixler’s uncle, Todd Bixler, told Channel 11 News that the person responsible needs to come forward.

“Man it up or woman it up or whoever did it, come forward, and I think it will work out. It could have been an accident. We don’t know,” he said.

Bixler’s body was found by someone who was driving home from work, according to police.

Midland Beaver Road was closed for several hours while investigators remained at the scene.

“If anyone thinks they hit an animal or deer, they need to reach out and contact the Beaver Borough Police Department or state police,” Hermick said.
