Police: Deaths of man, woman in Turtle Creek appears to be murder-suicide

TURTLE CREEK, Pa. — A man and a woman were found dead Tuesday morning in Turtle Creek, and police said it appears to be a murder-suicide.

Officers were called shortly after 4 a.m. to Watson Drive.

"We believe the male shot the female and then shot himself,” Allegheny County police Lt. Andrew Schurman said.

The medical examiner identified the victims as Sarah Villarreal, 34, and Daniel Connelly, 43. They both lived in the home where they died.

A neighbor who has lived on the street for 51 years told Channel 11 News that he can’t recall anything like this ever happening before.

"It’s pretty quiet up here, (a) pretty quiet neighborhood,” Dan Patalski said. "I was in bed … and looked out, and saw about eight cop cars in front of my house."

spoke to other neighbors who painted a different picture of the couple who lived in the home. They said they asked the landlord to evict Connelly.

Brennan also learned the Electric Heights Housing Association filed a civil complaint against Connelly last night alleging he owed more than $1,300 in unpaid rent.

Neighbors told Brennan a little girl was living in the home, but they are unsure what happened to her.
