Police looking for driver of car after possible hit-and-run in McKees Rocks

McKEES ROCKS, Pa. — Police are looking to question the driver of a car that might be connected to a possible fatal hit-and-run Saturday night in McKees Rocks.

Nikkolas Poliak, 23, was pronounced dead Saturday night at Allegheny General Hospital after he was found lying on Vine Street. Police and the medical examiner said his injuries were consistent with a hit-and-run. %

“I don't understand how they sleep at night. That vehicle has taken a lot from me,” Alice Loose, Poliak’s mother, said.

On Thursday, police released a photo of a newer model, dark-colored, four-door Cadillac -- possibly an ATS Model -- that was seen in the area. They are not saying that the vehicle was involved in Poliak’s death but want to talk to the driver. %

Poliak moved to McKees Rocks six days before his death, following a stint in drug rehab. He had been clean for four months and moved into an apartment on April 3. His mother said he was getting his life back on track and was planning to become an accountant.

“Please, please. If anybody would know anything to come forward, to let us have closure,” Loose said.

Anyone with information about the driver is asked to call the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit at 412-473-3000.
