Police seek woman suspected of robbing 2 South Strabane banks

Police are searching for a woman suspected of robbing two banks Friday in Washington County.

The WesBanco and First Commonwealth banks in South Strabane were robbed around 3:30 p.m.  The banks are both in the Trinity Point Shopping Center plaza.

Based on surveillance photos, officials said they believe the same woman was responsible for both robberies.

The woman is about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build and brown hair with highlights and dark-rimmed glasses. During one of the robberies, she wore a hooded sweatshirt; during the other, she wore a dark puffy jacket and a red scarf.

She passed the same note, demanding money, but never showed a weapon. There were no reported injuries.

South Strabane police and the FBI are investigating. Anyone who recognizes the woman is asked to call police.
