CANONSBURG, Pa. — Police are looking for the individuals involved in a violent home invasion in Canonsburg who fled to a Bridgeville Gas Station where cameras caught a woman taking money out of the ATV with the victim’s stolen credit card.
Video inside a Sunoco along Route 50 in the Bridgeville area showed a woman eating a sandwich around 2:30 a.m. on June 15.
According to police, the card was stolen one hour earlier at a Canonsburg home. The owner of the home was an older man on disability.
“When he went to answer the door, two males and a female forced their way in the home,” said Canonsburg Police Chief Al Coghill.
Coghill said the men threw the elderly man to the ground, pointing a gun at him and threatening to shoot him if he didn’t give them his pain pills.
“They were looking for money and pills,” Coghill said.
Investigators are hoping the woman caught on surveillance video is recognized. Coghill told Channel 11 the victim is a good man who has lived in Canonsburg for his entire life.
Police believe the trio targeted him because they knew he had pills for his disability.
“Anyone who is known to have opioid prescriptions are known to be a target,” Coghill said.
Anyone with information regarding the home invasion are asked to contact Canonsburg Police.
