PITTSBURGH — High school students living with disabilities across sixteen western Pennsylvania schools had a chance to attend their very own prom on Wednesday.

The prom took place downtown in the Grand Ballroom of Pittsburgh’s Omni William Penn Hotel.%

The group included over 150 students and their peer partner dates. The students met monthly with their peer partners for social and educational opportunities leading up to the prom.

Over time, the event has grown leaps and bounds since its humble beginning within the cafeteria at Elizabeth Forward High School.

The Grand Ballroom space was donated by Omni William Penn and a number of other vendors donated their services for the event.
