Several syringes found near Westmoreland County school bus stop

JEANNETTE, Pa. — Parents are concerned after several syringes were found near a school bus stop in Jeannette.

"Needles being thrown down over there where the kids are – wrong, very wrong," neighbor Tim Long said.

The syringes were found near a curb at the intersection of Gaskill Avenue and North 7th Street.

"My kids I think would know better (than) to pick anything up or mess with anything, but any kid might not," parent Rachel Conley said.

Neighbors told Channel 11 they saw someone clean them up before the needles fell into the wrong hands.

"It doesn't need to be here. How about smarten up. Take your garbage business away from the children. I beg you, please, leave us alone," Long said.
