Suspect arrested after third break-in at Verona bike shop

VERONA, Pa. — Police have arrested a suspect after the third break-in at a Verona bicycle shop in recent weeks.

Police said the thief smashed a window at Dirty Harry’s Bike Shop early Thursday. A man was arrested a short time later.

"They see a guy pushing two bikes down a road, which is curious to them so they stopped him," Verona police Chief Ron McLemore said. "One of the bikes was determined to be Dirty Harry's bike because it had a sticker on it that said 'Dirty Harry's.'"

Investigators are working to learn whether the same suspect, later identified as Tracy McCoy, is responsible for two other break-ins at the shop in the past two weeks. In each case, the bicycles that were stolen are worth more than $3,000.
