Teacher accused of inappropriate relationship with teen he met online

CLINTON, Pa. — A teacher is facing charges after being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a teenager.

According to a criminal complaint, Nicholas Gaworski, 25, met the 14-year-old girl on a website called “Meet Me” and told her he would provide her alcohol if she exposed herself.

They then met several times in person along California Hollow Road, not far from two schools, exchanging sex acts for money and alcohol, according to the complaint.

Those alleged incidents happened back in 2012, but charges were just filed.

"It's disgusting, it really is to know that your school isn't safe from just the teachers now,” said Joanna Driggers, a parent.

The girl told police that the two stopped communicating until recently, when Gaworski contacted her and offered her a “finders fee” if she could help him find other girls as young as 12 years old.

The criminal complaint states, “He gave her a price that he would pay to have sexual contact with either a 16-year-old or a girl 14-year-old girl, or a girl who was 12 years old or younger.

The victim contacted police.

Gaworski was a substitute teacher in the West Allegheny School District at the time of the alleged incidents. Channel 11 reached out to the district for comment and received the following statement, which was also sent to families in the district:

"It has recently been brought to our attention by Allegheny County Detectives and North Fayette Police Department that Mr. Nicholas Gaworski, an occasional substitute teacher in our district, has been arrested with multiple charges for having an inappropriate relationship with a teenager. The teenager is not a West Allegheny student. Mr. Gaworski was a substitute teacher at the middle school and high school for approximately 15 days this school year and was not a substitute in the district prior to this school year. Upon his employment, he submitted all necessary clearances.

"We are working closely with Allegheny County detectives and the North Fayette Police Department, who are asking that if you have relevant information pertaining to Mr. Gaworski, that you contact them immediately.   Please talk with your child to determine if they have any information that could assist authorities. It is suspected that he has been a substitute in other local school districts."

Gaworski is charged with unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault and furnishing alcohol to a minor.
