BETHEL PARK, Pa. — A teenager was critically injured in a hit-and-run accident Friday evening in Bethel Park, police said.
The accident happened about 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 88 and Baptist Road.%

Witnesses rushed to a nearby restaurant to call for help, police said. A doctor, who was inside eating at the time, ran to the injured teenager and provided assistance until paramedics arrived.
Police said the 17-year-old from Peters Township was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital in critical condition.
The driver who hit the teenager continued driving before pulling into a National Tire and Battery near the intersection, police said. He then walked to a GetGo, where he was arrested.
Police continue to investigate.
