Three adults and a 4-day-old infant were injured Tuesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash that closed the Liberty Bridge for several hours, authorities said.
The crash involved three vehicles on the southbound side of the bridge. According to preliminary information, the driver of an SUV was in the wrong lane of traffic at the time of the crash.

Officials said a man was driving his wife and infant child in a sedan when the crash happened. Paramedics transported both adults to UPMC Mercy Hospital. The infant was taken to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.
The driver of the SUV was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital and was last reported to be in good condition.

The bridge was closed in both directions from the tunnels to downtown from the time of the crash, which was just after 2:30 p.m., until 6 p.m. The closure caused heavy traffic delays throughout and around the city as drivers worked to find alternate routes.
Penguins fans trying to get to Tuesday night’s game at PPG Paints Arena were among those whose travel was disrupted.
“We sat there for an hour, hour and a half or so, just to get to the game,” Cole Malone said. “We had an option to park somewhere else, but we didn't know, so we just took the risk and it wasn't the right choice.”
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation officials said the bridge had to remain closed while investigators reconstructed the crash. The Accident Investigation Unit is continuing its investigation.
