Police said Benton-Warner, of Homewood, called 911 himself after the robbery, claiming he had just been beaten and thought both of his legs were broken. Police found him hiding in a bush on Railroad Way, where he appeared to be under the influence. Police said one of the alleged victims hit him with a hammer.

Additionally, police said one of the victims reported being restrained with duct tape. When one of the gunman became distracted, one of the victims rushed him and took the gun away before the assailants fled.

Officers caught Satterwhite and Benton-Warner in separate areas and found a bundle of heroin and a handgun.

Sapp is charged with possession and fleeing from police. Satterwhite is charged with robbery, recklessly endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated assault. Both were taken to the Washington County Correctional Facility.

Benton-Warner was airlifted to Allegheny General Hospital, where he remained Friday night. He faces charges of robbery, reckless endangerment and possession.
