Boil water advisory issued following water main break in Murrysville

MURRYSVILLE — Nearly 90 homes in Murrysville are under a precautionary boil water advisory following a water main break.

The Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County is making repairs to a water main that broke early Monday morning on Linda Drive in Murrysville.

Customers in parts of Murrysville, Trafford and Level Green may experience low or no water pressure.

A boil water advisory was issued for people living on Hope Court, Ivy Drive, Johnston Court, Jude Court, Linda Drive, Mayer Drive, and Meadowbrook Drive from number 3001 to 3485. A robocall was placed to homes in the affected area. %

Customers are advised to use bottled or boiled water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth or preparing food until further notice.

According to the MAWC, the water is still safe for bathing, washing clothes and flushing toilets.

The company hopes to be able to lift the advisory on Wednesday.
