Boy, 15, injured in hit-and-run

NEW BRIGHTON, Pa. — New Brighton police are investigating a Friday night hit-and-run that involved a vehicle hitting a 15-year-old boy.

The accident took place in the 600 block of Fifth Avenue, with the emergency call coming in at 7 p.m.

The boy's mother told police he was walking home from a friend's house when a vehicle hit him and took off without stopping. His mother said the boy did not know how it happened.

The mother said her daughter noticed he was injured when he managed to get home.

The boy was taken by ambulance to the hospital and was later released. The boy's family filed a report with the New Brighton Police Department.

Aside from minor bumps and bruises, the boy's mother said he may have a concussion.

The investigation is ongoing.
