Bridgeville police chief posts personal message to wanted fugitive

A Western Pennsylvania police chief's unique message to a suspect has gone viral.

Latoya Rosiek is charged in a deadly drug deal, and Bridgeville police Chief Chad King got personal on Facebook.

“There is no doubt ... you will be reading this post,” he wrote. "Your chest will begin to tighten, your heart will begin to pound.”

The Facebook post had been viewed more than 100,000 times by 6 p.m. Wednesday, hours after it was created.

King told channel 11 the department has a perfect track record when using social media to help solve a crime and he's confident it will help them catch Rosiek.

“I can’t keep up with the updates on my phone with the popularity of the post,” King said, a post that ended with "we will find you!"

“Right now, me and 11 officers, that’s 11 sets of eyes,” he said. “We now have 100,000 sets of eyes looking for her.”

Rosiek is charged with selling fentanyl to a Bridgeville man who died in December.

Michael Desanto, a Marine from California, thought he was purchasing heroin, but it was straight fentanyl and it killed him.

In King's Facebook post, he asks for the public’s assistance in locating Rosiek, saying, “Let’s show her what a powerful tool social media can be.”

He also wrote a personal message to Rosiek saying, in part, “I have known you since you were a teenager living in Bridgeville. Let’s end this foolishness, do the right thing and turn yourself in.”

“We are batting 1.000 using it to assist,” he said. “We try to pick and choose, only save it for the more serious crimes that we have.”

Rosiek used to live in Bridgeville, but has many ties in Washington County -- her last known address was in Cecil and King believes she could be living in Canonsburg.

King explains the reach of the department’s social media, writing that it has a 100 percent success rate to catch wanted felons. He even writes that the odds are she’ll be seeing the post herself soon.

“Your chest will begin to tighten, your heart will begin to pound, you may start trembling and break into a sweat as you are overcome with feelings of nausea,” he wrote. “You will soon realize that people you once trusted are now diming you out.”

He ends the post with a promise: “WE WILL FIND YOU.”
