ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A broken pipe that contributed to flooding in recent months on McKnight Road in Ross Township has been replaced.
The collapsed pipe was discovered in early July in a wooded area about 100 feet off McKnight Road. It largely ran parallel to the roadway, but almost entirely on private property.

Officials had estimated the cost of repairs would be more than $100,000 to business and landowners where the pipe runs.
The pipe that needed replaced was 60 feet long and more than 50 years old, officials said. Fixing it was made more difficult by a sinkhole that opened up above the collapsed area.
When McKnight Road flooding in recent weeks, it looked more like a river at times. During one of the flooding incidents, a car caught fire.
