TARENTUM, Pa. — Homeless Cat Management officials told Channel 11 they normally foster and care for 15-20 kittens at their Tarentum clinic. But recently, someone dropped off 49 kittens, many of them in critical condition.
"One may lose both of his eyes because his eyes are so infected," said Michelle Miller, a volunteer with Homeless Cat Management.
Kitten after kitten is in dire need of help.
"This is neglect and lack of medical care," Miller said. "They probably weren't being fed."

Miller told Channel 11 their shelter is overflowing with kittens that were malnourished, sick and abandoned.
"We couldn't turn them away because of their condition," Miller said. A woman from Westmoreland County saw someone dumping the animals on her farm off Route 201 in Belle Vernon, so she called the shelter.

"She tried to care for them, but she couldn't, so she reached out," Miller said.
Now, volunteers are racing, trying to get enough medicine to help care for them all, but it's expensive.
"We need financial support, the eye medication alone is over $1,000, need help cleaning the facility," Miller said.
Volunteers said they are focused for caring for the animals, then they will turn their attention to the person who they said is responsible for neglecting them.
