People around the world have donated more than $17,000 to send a Pittsburgh artist and his partner, who has terminal cancer, on their dream vacation.
Randy Gilson and his partner, Mac, created Randyland, a colorful three-story house covered in murals and art that has become a popular local landmark. Gilson and Mac, who have been together for 23 years, built the home together.

The two want to see the Grand Canyon and walk along a California beach together before Mac succumbs to the disease. Mac was diagnosed with advanced cancer in 2016 and given six months to live. Gilson said their trip will be their first and probably last vacation together.
The couple keeps the property open to the public for free. Gilson said he wants to follow through on his dream to turn it into a nonprofit museum someday.
