PITTSBURGH — An 11-year-old girl was taken to the hospital Wednesday after a suspected overdose, a Pittsburgh police spokeswoman said Thursday.
Police and paramedics were called to Palm Beach Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Beechview neighborhood just before 6 p.m. Narcan was administered to the girl, police said.

The girl was taken to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, where she was listed in critical condition.
The girls father said she is recovering and he wants police to find the person who sold his child drugs.
Neighbors said they knew something was wrong when she saw the first responders, but she never suspected it could be something like this.
"Total shock. This little girl has played Play-Doh down here with my granddaughter. She's not that kind of kid. That's not that kind of family," said neighbor Debbie Elk.
Investigators are not saying how the girl may have obtained the drugs or how they were ingested. Police are investigating.
