Jason's Deli locations affected by data breach

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A data breach is believed to have impacted Jason’s Deli locations across the country, including the one in Cranberry Township.

Jason's Deli was notified Dec. 22 that "a large quantity of payment card information had appeared for sale on the 'dark web,' and that an analysis of the data indicated that at least a portion of the data may have come from various Jason's Deli locations," according to the restaurant chain's website.

It is believed that malware was used to obtain card information starting on June 8, Jason’s Deli said. An investigation determined that about 2 million card numbers may have been affected.

Compromised data could include names, credit or debit card numbers, expiration dates, cardholder verification values and service codes.
