As the summer event season ramps up, the weekend closures of the Liberty Bridge are going to cause more and more problems.
Ongoing reconstruction work on the bridge will again close the span, as well as one lane in the inbound Liberty Tunnel, from 8 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday. The outbound tunnel and one lane in the inbound tunnel will remain open.
The closure will adversely affect motorists headed to the Three Rivers Arts Festival in Downtown, which begins Friday, as well as fans headed several high-profile concerts throughout the weekend.
