WILMERDING, Pa. — A man was hit and killed by a vehicle early Monday morning in Wilmerding.
The accident was reported shortly before 5 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Tri-Boro Expressway, which was closed in the area of Thomas Street.

Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
Investigators said it appears that the man was walking in the center of the left westbound lane. It was reported that a witnesses tried to tell him to move, but he did not.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. Authorities said it is not suspected that the driver was under the influence.
