Man sentenced for harboring illegal immigrants at 3 Saga locations

A McKees Rocks man was sentenced in federal court Thursday for harboring illegal immigrants at restaurants he owned.

Xing Zheng Lin, a.k.a. Steve Lin, 44, harbored illegal immigrants who were employed at Saga Restaurant locations he owned in Monroeville, Robinson and Bethel Park.

According to court documents, Lin harbored the immigrants for five years – from 2009 to January of 2014.

Lin was given a 1-day jail sentence, “supervised release of three years, with 24 weeks of intermittent confinement and home detention, followed by an additional three months of home confinement and a fine of $30,000,” the court said.

During Lin’s intermittent confinement, he has to spend two days a week in jail or a community confinement center.
