West Mifflin town leaders confirm with Channel 11 a borough officer has been suspended pending the outcue of an investigation.

"The suspension was effective immediately upon awareness that certain things have transpired,” said borough solicitor Phil DiLucente, who told Channel 11 he can’t identify the officer suspended because of personnel matters.

According to a police criminal complaint filed five days ago, David McCue, who the town manager confirms is a police officer on the force, was charged with simple assault.

According to a criminal complaint, outside the Key Bank Pavilion on August 6, McCue picked up a woman "around her neck and threw her to the ground causing bodily injuries.

He's also accused of punching two women “with a closed fist.”

“I can't confirm anything about a criminal complaint, but we did suspend an officer for a situation,” DiLucente said.
