Pittsburgh schools hold public hearing as union negotiations continue

PITTSBURGH — Parents told Pittsburgh school leaders they're worried that a strike could be called any day now.

Many of them are concerned about how long the entire negotiation process has taken, mostly because they aren't sure if a strike will actually happen.

"It's making me uncomfortable and I just hope they are able to come to an agreement," said Lucille Partner-Holiday, a grandparent who is tired of waiting and wondering when, or if, Pittsburgh Public Schools and its teacher will agree. "I think it's keeping a lot of kids on pins and needles."

Teachers want more money, along with several other things.
