Police arrest man accused in sex act with juvenile at Kennywood

WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. — Police have identified the man they say was involved in a sex act with a juvenile at Kennywood Park.

Police arrested James Wright, 39, of Baldwin Borough. Wright is facing several charges including stalking, corruption of minors and indecent assault.

On Aug. 2, West Mifflin police said a man exposed himself and put his genitalia on a 13-year-old girl's leg. The girl was waiting in line with a friend at the Log Jammer when she was assaulted. Surveillance video shows the man running away.

He told the two girls, "Sorry, I'm just having problems," according to the criminal complaint.

After the surveillance pictures were released, He later texted his friend saying "Hey bro I just want you to know that I was in Myrtle beach this past week with my family."

But, police used his phone records to show he wasn't there that week and say his phone puts him near Kennywood that day.

Police say Wright was also caught on camera following another group.

Police said tips from the public helped lead to the arrest.

Kennywood park officials released the following statement in August:

Kennywood would like to express its sympathy toward the victim and her family for this unfortunate incident.
