Pennsylvania State Police arrested a man Saturday after an incident Friday night that left one trooper injured.
Washington County troopers arrested Zachary Jones, 21, around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, after they said Jones struck a trooper with his vehicle Friday and fled the scene after being stopped.
According to a release by state police, troopers encountered a “suspicious vehicle” and pulled Jones over on Game Lands Road in South Franklin Township at 11:30 p.m.
Troopers then discovered Jones had a weapon in the vehicle and attempted to reach inside and take it, the release said.

At that moment, troopers said Jones accelerated his vehicle and began to flee the scene, hitting one trooper in the process. Troopers fired multiple rounds “in an attempt to stop Jones’ actions,” according to the release.
Troopers then began a search of the area, and were unable to locate Jones or his car until Saturday.
Jones was transported to the Washington County Booking Center where he is awaiting arraignment, according to a release by state police.
The trooper who was struck by Jones’ vehicle received medical treatment.
