Police search for person who shot man in North Versailles

NORTH VERSAILLES, Pa. — Police are searching for the person who shot and wounded a man in North Versailles on Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting happened around 3:45 p.m. on Lincoln Highway.

Police said the victim was shot in his upper back/neck area. He was taken to a hospital and was listed in critical but stable condition Wednesday evening.

Investigators said they were dispatched to the 500 block of Marvin Avenue after reports that a person had been shot. When first responders arrived, they were told that the person who made the report had driven away.

Officers found the victim a few flocks away in the 300 block of Broadway Extension. County homicide detectives are speaking with the driver of the vehicle.

Anyone who may have seen or heard anything in either the 500 block of Marvin Avenue or the 300 block of Broadway Extension is asked to call the county homicide unit at 412-473-1300.
