Police are looking for a woman charged with homicide in the
in Homewood last month.
Police say Lavasha Johnson, 26, exchanged dozens of text messages with Richard Williams, 35, in the hour before Williams was shot in his car on Kelly Street on May 22, according to a criminal complaint.

Williams was asking for Johnson’s help in purchasing marijuana, according to the complaint. Telephone records indicate Johnson set up a deal and got into Williams’ vehicle.
Minutes later, security video from an unidentified location shows Williams being shot by a man who was sitting in the back seat of his car, according to the complaint. The shooter then fled the scene.
When police went to Johnson’s Homewood apartment, she wasn’t there, and it appeared she had departed in a hurry, according to the complaint.
Johnson is charged with homicide and tampering with evidence.
