Powerball ticket for $759M jackpot sold in MA; $1 million ticket sold in Tarentum

According to the Powerball website, one ticket sold in Massachusetts matched all six numbers in Wednesday's drawing for the second-largest Jackpot in Powerball history -- $759 million.

The winning numbers were 6, 7, 16, 23 and 26, and the Powerball number was 4.

Although the jackpot was not won in Pennsylvania, Powerball players in the state did not come away empty-handed.

There were more than 485,000 Pennsylvania winners of nearly $13 million in Wednesday’s drawing -- including one $2 million winner and four winners of $1 million. There were also four winners of $200,000 and 14 winners of $50,000.

“I would pay off all my debts definitely,” said Jennifer Dellamea of Ross Township. “I would give my mom and stepdad a very nice vacation.”

The winning ticket worth $2 million in Pennsylvania matched five of the white balls and was purchased with the Power Play option. It was sold in Catawissa, Columbia County.

Among the four $1 million winning tickets, which matched five of the white balls, was one sold at the Marathon gas station in Tarentum, Allegheny County.

“Someone’s going to have a good afternoon,” said Rita Houllion of Worthington. “That’s for sure a better day than we’re having.”

A ticket sold at the GetGo on Ferguson Road in Allison Park was among the four $200,000 winners.

“I would definitely go and buy tickets there myself. I hear if it’s one place, it usually keeps repeating,” said Dellamea.

The Pennsylvania Lottery said a total of 485,326 Powerball tickets won prizes of various amounts.

In Pennsylvania, winners have one year from the drawing date to claim their prizes.
