Commuters in eastern Allegheny County may have to find a new route after a significant feeder road closes Monday morning.
Hunter Road is a popular route to Allegheny River Boulevard, an artery that leads from eastern suburbs like Verona, Oakmont and Penn Hills to the city of Pittsburgh.
But several landslides on Hunter have necessitated the construction of retaining walls, and the construction of those walls will require the closure of the road.
Construction is expected to begin at about 7 a.m. and will continue for more than a month.
