Rowdy Buck bar appears to be closed after deadly shooting

PITTSBURGH — The signs are gone from the front of a South Side bar where a deadly shooting happened last month.

Pittsburgh police are still searching for Dahrique Smith's killer.

TRENDING NOW:

After the shooting, the Pittsburgh Public Safety director and the police chief asked bar owners on the South Side to address safety issues such as lighting and crowd size.

The Allegheny County District Attorney's Office shut down Rowdy Buck at least temporarily after the shooting.

"We have reached an agreement with them where they will remain closed until they make a number of upgrades to their security protocols, including upgrading their cameras," said Mike Manko, spokesman for the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office. "Once that work is done, we will meet with them again to discuss having the bar reopen."

At the time, that was only supposed to take a couple of weeks.

It appears the bar is permanently closed. Their Facebook page has also been taken down.
