UPDATE: 10:50 p.m.
Repairs will be made overnight, and crews hope to be finished by 5 a.m. Saturday. During that time, customers will not have running water service.
Additionally, the inbound lane of that section of Liberty will remain closed until work is finished.
UPDATE 5 p.m.
PWSA said the water main has been shut, and repairs are currently being made to the street and water main.
The water is now drying up on the street.

A water main break is causing treacherous driving conditions in the Strip District Friday.
The main break occurred around 3:30 p.m. along Liberty Avenue just before 26th Street.
Channel 11’s Mike Holden reported water could be seen bubbling up out of the sidewalk in front of the CHS building.

Holden reported that there was so much water that it has started to overflow into the street – covering nearly three lanes of traffic along Liberty Avenue.
The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority is currently on scene working to repair the break.

There is no time table for repairs to be completed to the water main.
The road is still open to traffic, though there are spots where cars are having trouble navigating through the flooding.
