Water main repairs expected to close Oakland street until 4 p.m.

PITTSBURGH — A major water main break closed part of South Bouquet Street in Oakland on Tuesday morning and cut water service to nearby residents and businesses.

Water was pouring down the street around 2:30 a.m. from what Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority said is a 12-inch main break. The street is closed between Joncaire and Bates streets.

PWSA said water customers on South Bouquet between Pier and Bates streets will be without water service, including a U.S. post office, until repairs are complete around 4 p.m. Post office employees were bringing in cases of bottled water to cope with the disruption.
