PITTSBURGH — One person was killed in a shooting early Sunday morning in Pittsburgh’s Homewood South neighborhood.
Emergency crews responded to the 7500 block of Hamilton Avenue around 12:45 a.m. after a ShotSpotter alert was activated, according to police.
Crews found an unresponsive male lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was identified as Devon Allen Trowell, 21, of Wilkinsburg, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office.
He was transported to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Pittsburgh police are investigating the shooting.
