WEST MAYFIELD, Pa. — A woman accidentally killed her friend as she was backing down a driveway Friday afternoon, police said.
The accident was reported shortly after noon in the 3800 block of High Street Extension in West Mayfield, Beaver County.
Police said a 79-year-old woman was backing down her driveway when she ran over and killed her friend, 69-year-old Martha Wisler, who was visiting for the day.
Wisler was walking down the driveway to get the mail when the accident happened.

Police said the driver did not know she had run over her friend, and got out of her car wondering where Wisler was. The driver checked under her car and found Wisler.
A neighbor said she heard the sirens.
"It has to be a horrible feeling for the person who did it," said Linda Burns.
