Strangers are helping each other after bridal retailer Alfred Angelo unexpectedly shut down operations, leaving thousands of brides without their dream dresses.

Kind-hearted former brides are now offering their gowns to complete strangers who are left without a dress for their big day, connecting gowns to brides thanks to Twitter, "the Today Show" reported.

They’re using the hash tag #dressmatchmaker and are sharing photos and sizing info.

Many of the gowns are being given for free, some are asking for shipping costs to be covered by the brides"the Today Show" reported.
