A 25-year-old woman in the Tampa, Florida, area faces sexual battery charges after she became pregnant by an 11-year-old boy, police said.
Marissa Mowry and the boy allegedly had sex in January 2014, which resulted in her pregnancy, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office told WFTS.
Mowry was 22 at the time and gave birth in October 2014. Police said she maintained a sexual relationship with the boy until he was 14 years old, according to WFTS.
Police arrested Mowry on Tuesday when they obtained an arrest warrant. Officials placed Mowry’s 3-year-old child in the hands of a “responsible adult” while police continue to investigate, WFTS reported.
Mowry is held at the county jail without bail.
