EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio — The grandmother who apparently overdosed with her friend in a car with a boy in the back seat pleaded no contest on Thursday to criminal charges.

Rhonda Pasek, 50, pleaded no contest to public intoxication, child endangerment, disorderly conduct and a seat belt violation, WKBN reported. Pasek was ordered to pay a $280 fine and sentenced to 180 days in jail.

"I don't condone what she did, but she is not a bad person," Pasek's sister, who asked not to be identified, told NBC News. "She loves that boy."

Police in East Liverpool, Ohio, posted a photo of the affidavit issued on Sept. 7 along with the terrible photos of the passed out woman, her friend and the child on Facebook.

The man in the car, James Acord, was sentenced to 360 days in jail and also pleaded no contest to child endangering charges. According to WPIX, he was also fined $475 and got his driver's license suspended for 3 years.

The 4-year-boy will reportedly live with his great-aunt and great-uncle in South Carolina.

The East Liverpool Police Department posted the horrific photos last week. Police administered Narcan to the two adults to reverse the overdoses.
