Washington County Man Sentenced To Prison For Girlfriend's Murder

WASHINGTON, Pa.,None — A Washington County man was sentenced Monday to more than 25 years in prison for the murder of his girlfriend in 2009.

Larry Boyd, 40, will serve a sentence between 29 and 58 years for beating his girlfriend, Anna Marie Lutz, to death.

Boyd was arrested Sept. 27, 2009, after police said they found Lutz, 24, dead at Boyd's home in Claysville. Prosecutors said Boyd beat Lutz to death after a night of heavy drinking.

Boyd was convicted in March of third-degree murder and aggravated assault. He tearfully testified in his own defense during his trial that he found the victim's body on their deck and would never have hurt her.
