Le'Veon Bell says he's ‘gotta move on' from Steelers in April Fools' tweet

PITTSBURGH — Le’Veon Bell had some April Fools’ Day fun on social media, posting a message that caused the hearts of some Pittsburgh Steelers fans to sink.

“It's been a great run with Steeler Nation, I will always have love 4 all my former teammates, coaches, & for all my fans! but gotta move on!” Bell tweeted.

The running back let the message marinate on Twitter for about an hour and a half before clarifying in a follow-up tweet that it was all a joke.

“APRIL FOOLS is one of my favorite days if you all didn't know!! my agent even thought I was serious!!!!” Bell tweeted.

Twitter reactions to the prank included “Don't ever do this to me again,” “This almost ruined my day” and “@L_Bell26 had me going at first then looked up and saw the date woo that was a close one.”

Fortunately, Steelers fans can now breathe a collective sigh of relief.

“LOL!!! some fell for it, some didn't...but anyways APRIL FOOLS!” Bell said in a third tweet.
