LATROBE, Pa. — Steelers Training Camp continued at Latrobe High School Saturday afternoon in what Mike Tomlin calls “a very productive day.”
This would be the last practice before the team puts on the pads.
“That’s when the real evaluation happens,” Tomlin said. “It’s time to take that significant step and we’re excited about it.”
Despite being in shorts, shirts and helmets it appears Ben Roethlisberger has taken a liking to Justin Hunter after hooking up for a couple touchdown passes early in practice.

“He’s done some good things, “ Tomlin said. “We’ll keep it in perspective. We get a chance to play football tomorrow.”
Hunter got more of an opportunity today while second-round draft pick JuJu Smith-Schuster had the day off while dealing with an ankle injury. The wide receiver is considered day-to-day.
The Steelers top draft pick, T.J. Watt spoke for the first time this morning. Watt says his brother, J.J. told him to “keep your mouth shut” and “be a sponge” in his first training camp. Watt will play inside and outside linebacker in his rookie campaign with improving the team’s pass rush.
“I didn’t come in here saying I’m just going to be a pass rusher. I’m Just going to be a run stopper,” Watt said with confidence. “I’m here to be a well-rounded Pittsburgh Steeler linebacker and I think that’s my goal in camp and I think it’s going to continue to get me better.”
