ST. LOUIS — It’s been nearly a month since Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby scored his 399th NHL goal, and maybe it seemed like number 400 would never come, but it did in unusual fashion on Sunday against the St. Louis Blues.
Crosby has been known to score from crazy angles, and number 400 will go down as one of those goals.

In the second period, he put the puck on net against Blues goaltender Jake Allen. There seemed to be no room on the edge of the net, but as Crosby looped around, he took a second look and saw the puck was in.

Crosby’s first goal came in his rookie season of 2005 against the Boston Bruins in the Penguins’ first home game that season. Since then he has arguably been the best player in hockey.
Goal No. 399 came against the New York Rangers on Jan.14. Since then, Crosby has registered 14 assists, but couldn’t find the back of the net.
