Pittsburgh Penguins president, CEO says team no longer for sale

, the Penguins announced on June 3, 2015 that the team hired Morgan Stanley to help explore a potential sale.

Channel 11 News reached out to the Penguins organization about Pens President and CEO David Morehouse’s announcement, but officials said they weren’t going to comment any further.

Pens fans who spoke with Channel 11 News said they were happy with the decision.

“It’s good news,” fan Niall Kinney said.

The Penguins face-off Thursday night against the Washington Capitals in their home opener at the newly named PPG Paints Arena.
