Penguins "Big Screen" returns for first round of Stanley Cup Playoffs

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Penguins’ big screen is back for the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Despite prior reports, the big screen playoff showings will begin with Game 1 of the Penguins’ series against the New York Rangers.

The board, which will be presented by First Niagara, will be located at the People’s Gate at CONSOL Energy Center at the corner of 5th Avenue and Washington Place. It will be in operation for all home games of the first-round series against the Rangers.

“Our original decision was that we wouldn’t be able to do it because of the construction, but interest in a Big Screen from our fans and Mayor Peduto was so overwhelming that we came up with this solution,” said David Morehouse, President and CEO of the Penguins.

The Big Screen will not be in operation for road games in the first round.

Buford’s Kitchen, located directly across from CONSOL Energy Center on Fifth Avenue, will be the official site of Penguins’ road game watch parties.
