Weather drying out for Sunday after storms prompt warnings

PITTSBURGH — UPDATE (6:30 p.m.): The Severe Thunderstorm Warnings have been allowed to expire.

Severe Weather Team 11 Meteorologist Kevin Benson said dry air will push into the region through the remainder of the evening. Rain is not in the forecast for Sunday, which will be mostly sunny and a little less humid.

UPDATE (5:40 p.m.): A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 6:15 p.m. for Indiana and Westmoreland counties.

UPDATE (5:24 p.m.): A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 6 p.m. for Fayette, Washington, and Westmoreland counties.

UPDATE (5:10 p.m.): A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 6 p.m. for Allegheny, Fayette and Westmoreland counties. Indiana and Westmoreland counties are under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 5:45 p.m.

UPDATE (4:46 p.m.): A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 5:30 p.m. for Indiana and Westmoreland counties.

UPDATE (4:40 p.m.): A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 5:15 p.m. for Armstrong and Indiana counties.

UPDATE (4:35 p.m.): Severe Thunderstorm Warnings for Allegheny and Westmoreland counties have been extended until 5:15p.m.

UPDATE (4:25 p.m.): A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 5 p.m. for Allegheny and Washington counties. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 4:45 p.m. for Butler and Westmoreland counties.

Any storms that develop have the potential to include heavy downpours and gust winds.

Rain is expected to wrap up Saturday evening. Sunday will be dry with sunshine.
