The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is gearing up for its annual Light The Night Walk.

The walk will be held Oct. 10 at Heinz Field, and fundraising efforts are in full swing.

Each year, people from across the nation form teams to raise money to fund lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provide free information and support services.

The LLS is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. According to its website, the mission of LLS is to: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
