BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. — The attorney for a man accused in the hit-and-run death of a 25-year-old man in Beaver County said his client regrets not coming forward to police.
William Aeschbacher, 62, is charged in the accident on Route 68 that killed Brandon Bixler in late November. He was arrested about a month later, and police said he confessed to hitting Bixler.
According to a criminal complaint previously obtained by Channel 11 News, Aeschbacher told investigators that he hit a dark object and discovered it was a person after circling back around. Instead of calling police, he drove home.
“If he would've just pulled over, we wouldn't be here today,” Steve Colafella, Aeschbacher’s attorney, said. “He regrets not coming forward. He's not in good health and we're hoping to work something out.”
