2 firefighters injured after multiple tanker trucks catch fire at oil refinery in Venango County

BARKEYVILLE, Pa. — A tanker truck caught fire and spread to others at an oil refinery in Venango County early Tuesday morning.

This happened at Heath Oil Company along Route 8 in Barkeyville around 3:47 a.m.

There were reports of explosions when the fire began. According to NBC affiliate WFMJ in Youngstown, an explosion slightly injured two firefighters and caused heavy damage to one of their trucks.

Thirty to 40 fire departments were called to the scene to get everything under control.

Dispatchers said no one was taken to a hospital, and no evacuations were made.

WFMJ reported that eight tanker trucks were destroyed.

Route 8 was shut down between I-80 and Route 208.
